Wendy (Murphy) Gross has served on the Mastics, Moriches, Shirley Community Library Board of Trustees since 2012 and is the current Board Vice President. She is a lifelong community member, William Floyd graduate and has been a Kindergarten teacher and Special Education teacher in the William Floyd School District for 23 years. Previously, she has worked as a Special Education teacher and Music Therapist at Just Kids Learning center for 12 years.
Wendy is active in many community organizations in the Tri-Hamlet area. She serves as Vice President of Ocean Arts, works in the music ministry at St. Judes Church in Mastic Beach and serves on numerous educational committees and policy boards in the William Floyd School District. Wendy is an active member and serves on the executive board of the William Floyd United Teachers Union. Wendy established the Teachers Story Corner in 2012 which offers children and familiesopportunities to meet with William Floyd School District Teachers and Administrators over the summer to increase and improve literacy skills as well as to strengthen school and community relations.
